After a dispute, a 70-year-old man apparently egged his 60-year-old neighbour on for a "one-on-one fight".
The older man was apparently cursed and spat at earlier by his neighbour.

The brawl escalated, and the man was allegedly stabbed in the forehead by a 30cm-long plastic strip.

Neighbour harassed him

The incident occurred at around 3pm on Nov. 16 at Block 34 Toa Payoh Lorong 5.
Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, the 70-year-old man, surnamed Pan, said he and his wife went to his sister-in-law's house to get something. The trio lived on the same floor.
However, he claimed his sister-in-law's next-door neighbour suddenly spat and swore at him.
Pan said the neighbour's feud stemmed from an earlier dispute.
Pan said his neighbour scolded a cleaner for taking out the garbage while he was eating, causing the former to step in and defend the cleaner.
Since the initial dispute, Pan suspected that the neighbour treated him with animosity.
On Nov. 17, upon being spat at, Pan said he lashed at his neighbour, asking him to come and fight him "one-on-one".

The neighbour then retrieved a 30cm-long plastic strip from his house.
They then fought.
Pan claimed that his nephew stepped in to stop the fight, standing between the two.
However, the neighbour allegedly stabbed Pan in the forehead, causing his family to call the police.
A 70-year-old man was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed with Mothership.
The stab wound was apparently four centimetres long and required stitches, Pan revealed, adding that he would need to return to the hospital next week to remove the stitches.

Investigations ongoing
