Lebanese journalist Fadi Boudaya stated in a stormy February 27, 2025, interview with Spot Shot on YouTube that Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah redeemed his nation through the resistance he led, much like Jesus Christ saved his nation from the evils of their sins. He added that anyone who seeks to confiscate Hizbullah's weapons "wants us to crawl on our knees." Boudaya also criticized the focus on Hizbullah's weapons, saying that instead of addressing Israel's occupation of Lebanon, all he ever hears is talk about Hizbullah's arms.
Fadi Boudaya: "We have studied the character of Jesus Christ – the character of the Savior who redeemed his nation of all the sins that had spread within that nation. He redeemed his nation, in order to liberate them from these sins. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah redeemed his nation, by means of the resistance that he headed. He did not flee the battlefield for his personal safety.

"Sayyed Nasrallah's [deeds] are similar to those of Christ, when he saved his nation from the evils of their sins. He is similar in his deeds."

Interviewer: "You people insist on undermining peace in Lebanon..."
Boudaya: "Why, are you being undermined by the weapons of the resistance?"
Interviewer: "The terms set by the foreign countries in order to have stability in Lebanon are the confiscation of Hizbullah's weapons..."
Boudaya: "They want us to crawl on our knees. This is what the confiscation of Hizbullah's weapons means.

"Before you tell the resistance to surrender its weapons, have some shame and show us how you drive Israel out of Lebanon. Show us how Israel violated [the ceasefire agreement], under the scrutiny of the French cowards and the American cowboys. They are laughing at us from the sidelines, and all we say is that we will examine, put pressure, deal with it, we denounce, we want, we don't want... What is this?"
Interviewer: "The sponsor of this agreement is Nabih Berri..."

Boudaya: "It was not Nabih Berri who violated the agreement. Israel, America, and France did. It was not Nabih Berri. Don't blame the people who abide by the agreement and exonerate the people who violate it. This is the difference between our logic and yours."
Interviewer: "Why are you saying this to me?"
Boudaya: "Because you represent the perspective of the other side.

"What guarantees can you give to the Lebanese people that Israel will not attack Lebanon?"
Interviewer: "You are talking as if the weapons you are clinging to benefitted Lebanon in any way."
Boudaya: "It has benefitted Lebanon in many ways."
Interviewer: "How so? The destruction? The number of martyrs? Or the occupation, which is where we ended up?"
Boudaya: "Which occupation?"
Interviewer: "The Israeli occupation..."
Boudaya: "So how come nobody is talking about the Israeli occupation? I only hear people talking about [Hizbullah's] weapons... You only talk about the occupation when it is convenient for you."
