Johor police bust two drug rings
JOHOR BARU: State police busted two drug syndicates with the arrest of five men, including three Singaporeans, and seized drugs worth over RM220,000 after two raids.
Johor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Shariff said that in the first raid, a Narcotics Department team arrested a Singaporean at a house in Permas Jaya at 11pm on Wednesday and confiscated Ecstasy and Erimin 5 pills.
“We confiscated drugs worth RM202,100, which could have been trafficked to 5,000 addicts,” he said here yesterday.
It is learnt that the Singaporean was also involved in a horse-betting syndicate. DCP Mohd Mokhtar said that in a separate raid at the same time, police arrested four men at a house in Taman Tampoi Indah.
“We seized drugs worth RM20,700, believed to be cannabis and heroin,” he said.
