LONDON - US comedian Joan Rivers was quizzed by British officials when she was mistaken for an immigrant illegally entering the UK.
Four border patrol officers descended on Rivers as she disembarked from a fishing boat on the Swale Estuary near Kent, after they received a tip-off regarding a suspicious group of people.
Rivers, her daughter Melissa, and her TV crew were questioned for several minutes at the scene before officials recognised Rivers.
The funnywoman, who was filming a segment for her new TV show Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best!, insists the incident was amusing and admits she thought her questioners were good-looking.
"Even though we were innocent I am so sorry they didn't arrest us. I love Englishmen and they were very cute!" she said.
