JOHOR BARU: A single mother who prostituted her daughters, aged 10 and 13, was sentenced to 75 years' jail on Monday (Nov 13), according to local media reports.

The 39-year-old woman from Kulai was charged with prostituting the girls to two men at a budget hotel in Larkin Perdana, Johor Baru for five days in October, according to The Star.

She admitted forcing her daughters to have sexual intercourse with two Bangladeshi men while she watched. The woman received RM50 (US$11.93) for each of them, and paid them between RM1 and RM20 after each session.

According to Harian Metro, the mother, who represented herself, pleaded with the court to just fine her as she had two more children, aged four and five, under her care.

However in her argument, deputy public prosecutor Suhaila Shafi'uddin asked that the accused be given a sentence that reflects her serious crime.

"It is clear the two girls are traumatised by the incident. We want a sentence that not only serves as a lesson to the accused, but also the whole community as well as all parents," Suhaila was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.


Police arrested the mother on Oct 25 at her house in Taman Bintang, near Kulai.

Five male Bangladeshi nationals were also nabbed on Nov 1 to facilitate investigations into the case.

JOHOR BARU: A single mother has been sentenced to a total of 75 years in jail after she pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court here to 10 counts of exploiting her two daughters into prostitution.

The accused, 39, was calm when Judge Kamarudin Kamsun read out the sentence.

She was accused of forcing her two daughters, aged 10 and 13, into prostitution at a budget hotel in Larkin on five different occasions between October 1 and 7 this year.

She was charged under Section 31(1)(b) of the Child Act which is read together with Section 16(1) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for each of the offence.

Every charge was against each victim on each occasion.

Kamarudin sentenced the accused to 15 years in jail for each of the offence but she will only serve a total of 75 years after he ordered some of the sentences to be carried out concurrently.

The accused also escaped caning because she is a woman.

She got too many kids and her CB to loose to be wanted by customers to prostitute herself. So must use her children who may not even be virgin. She can say this in her plea for lighter sentence, because she need $$$ to feed so many kids. If she spend long time in prison her children also have to prostitute themselves for living any way. She must ask judge to consider the hard reality she is in. This is the hardship because her CB lar kopi or else she could had made an easy living selling her CB.
