Different MP, same experience

I REFER to Mr Loke Kong's letter on Monday about his MP not acknowledging his letter ("No reply").

I have had the same experience with my MP.

I wrote to him on March 4 last year, and after waiting for a few weeks, I decided to print a copy of my letter, drive to the People's Action Party branch office during the weekly Meet-the-People session, and pass it to the person at the registration desk.

I didn't join the long queue to see the MP as my letter was self-explanatory. The person at the registration desk promised to pass my letter to the MP. However, almost a year has passed and I have not received any response.

All I asked in my letter was whether there was any plan to cover the drains outside my house, as I noticed that work was carried out to cover the drains at the private houses near the community centre.

There's no need for the MP to reply in writing as the reply is self-explanatory. Go look at the drain again. If it's covered, it means yes. If it's still not covered, it means no.
