Nurses and doctors at IMH lack compassion; perhaps they have become numb. Our problems only help them generate income. There is plenty of shouting and screaming in the ward, both day and night, making it impossible to sleep well. Doctors are impatient, and so are the nurses. If you want to be admitted to IMH, do not expect to be treated with dignity. You will lose your pride, only to eat and lie on the bed listening to the constant screaming and shouting. It is not a place for recovery. It feels like a prison: noisy, messy, and dirty.
I highly recommend seeking treatment at a private clinic or another hospital if you are truly depressed. At IMH, you will live like cattle. Nobody cares about you. If you are unlucky, other patients may touch you for no reason, and you will have to bear it because no one cares. Nurses are capable of saying the nastiest and most insulting things I have ever heard to patients. They treat patients like stray dogs. Don't believe me? Try it yourself.
