Jennifer Aniston is all about taking the plunge!
While we're sure she can't wait to marry fiancé Justin Theroux, we are actually talking about her love of plunging necklines. On Saturday, Aniston turned heads on the red carpet at the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala Honoring Ed Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick wearing a black silk Tom Ford gown that showed some serious skin. Her chest area was on display down to her stomach, and she looked as confident as ever rocking the look. Perhaps part of the confidence came from a sheer panel that ran from her neckline down, preventing any embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions. And, yes, she accessorized with her huge rock — the blinding diamond engagement ring Theroux gave her over the summer.
At the party, Aniston seemed to be having a great time, looking at camera phone pictures of new mom Drew Barrymore's daughter, chatting up Cameron Diaz, and posing for photos with Salma Hayek.
While certainly revealing, Aniston's dress selection isn't all that out of the ordinary for her. For one thing, it was black and that seems to have become the 43-year-old's signature color through the years. She must have a walk-in closet at her home just for her LBDs, and another one for her floor length black gowns that she wears whenever she has a big red carpet to walk. She seems to have black dresses in all lengths and cuts. We almost wonder if she'll hop on the black wedding dress bandwagon…
The former "Friends" star also loves plunging necklines. This particular dress actually reminds us of the extremely low cut black dress Aniston wore to the 2004 Golden Globe Awards. It was held together by one hard-working belt clasp across the front. She's also been known to take the plunge in other colors too. At Elle's Women in Hollywood Tribute last year, she donned a Kaufmanfranco mini sequin dress with an open front and back. The dress also highlighted her long, toned, tanned legs.
Earlier this year, Aniston talked fashion with InStyle. "On the red carpet, it's time for me to start doing something different," she said in March. "I play it very safe, because I just want to be comfortable. If I could wear a jersey tank that went down to the floor, I would. ... I love Christopher Bailey for Burberry. And Tom Ford. I have his skirts, jackets and shoes, but I don't know how to walk in them. I've tried! I need to lop off a little of the heel. They require serious strength."
And she's a great friend, opening up her closet to friends. "I'm a bit of a clothes hoarder, admittedly," she told the magazine. "I try to weed out stuff. My girlfriends come over for cheese and wine and go shopping in my wardrobe. They especially love it when they get stuff with a tag still on." She also noted that being in her 40s isn't changing anything either. "I don't feel my age," she said. "I feel young every day."
