Those E-Gates are for social visits, similar to a normal visit. For those who intend to stay beyond the 30-day limit, legally, this is not applicable although it could presently be a loophole. I think it'll be a matter of time before they'll put more enforcement into this. If the MM2H Visa is charging RM500 per year per person, why would they want to lose this money?

1. Saya ingin memberi perhatian kepada anda tentang ramai warga Singapura yang telah mengambil kesempatan daripada pelepasan E-Gate di CIQ JB untuk membolehkan mereka tinggal di JB dan bekerja di Singapura.

2. Ini kerana mereka boleh memintas pegawai imigresen tradisional apabila transit masuk dan keluar dari JB dan tiada siapa yang akan menyemak kekerapan mereka masuk dan keluar dari JB.

3. Kelemahan ini adalah halangan kepada mereka yang mempunyai visa yang sah (cth: MM2H, pas pekerjaan, dll) kerana pemegang visa ini membayar hak undang-undang mereka untuk tinggal di Malaysia. Sebagai contoh, MM2H akan berharga RM500 setahun seorang.

4. Jika tiada niat untuk membendung penderaan sebegitu, kebanyakan rakyat Singapura yang kini menetap di JB pasti tidak akan mengambil pilihan MM2H rasmi. Mengapa mereka hanya boleh keluar dari JB dan kembali pada hari yang sama melalui pelepasan E-Gate? Malah ada yang merentasi setiap hari memandangkan mereka menetap di JB dan bekerja di Singapura.

5. Saya amat menghargai balasan e-mel mengenai tindakan pembetulan yang akan diambil oleh pihak berkuasa anda untuk membendung penyalahgunaan dan penyalahgunaan penyertaan lawatan sosial yang diberikan kepada warga Singapura melalui pelepasan E-Gate di JB CIQ.
