A Japanese man allegedly stabbed himself and died at his Eunos Crescent flat on 18 June.
SCDF officers received a call from the man’s wife and upon arrival, they found the 40-year-old man dead in the living room.
It is unclear whether his wife was at home during the time of the incident.
According to Madam Yu, a neighbour, she heard screams coming from the Japanese man’s house that morning.
Another 50-year-old neighbour, Mr Zhang, said that the foreign couple was usually not friendly.
The man’s father-in-law said that the couple has been married for eight to nine years.
The man’s wife and her father went to identify the body yesterday morning.
The police said they have classified the case as unnatural death and are investigating.
