THE Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (Jakim) is planning to take action against a Muslim engineer who confessed on YouTube that he is gay, Harian Metro reported.
Jakim community, social and family development director Saimah Muhktar said the man’s revelations were detrimental to Islam and society.
She added that Jakim would hold a meeting with several departments including the Multimedia and Communication Commission on the matter.
Saimah said Islam abhorred homosexuality and it was considered a major sin which went against the order of nature and Islamic laws.
