<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> THE syndicate was so well organised that it could forge credit cards with the name of the fraudster but this did not allow Ang Lip Kwing to get away.
The Malaysian, 29, was jailed for four years by a district court on Monday. He pleaded guilty to possessing fake credit cards and conspiring to cheat at Changi Airport in October. Asking for a stiff sentence, Deputy Public Prosecutor David Chew pointed out that the syndicate was 'highly sophisticated considering that the counterfeit cards were made from scratch and embossed with the accused's name'. The court heard that as Ang was unable to repay a loan to an illegal moneylender in Malaysi, the loan shark gave him five fake credit cards and instructed him to buy as many high-valued watches as possible from shops in the transit area of Changi Airport. The commissions he earned would go to offset his debt.
