<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A MOTORIST who caused the death of a motorcyclist through his rash act along Pan-Island Expressway was jailed for six months on Monday. Wan Ahmed Fahmi Alwi, 30, an equipment engineering assistant, was also banned from driving for eight years for the April 19, 2008 accident. He admitted last month to causing the death of Mr Kang Wee Lik, 33, when he lost control of his car which was doing 100kmh while overtaking a car on its left and veering across three lanes and hitting the victim's motorcycle. A district court heard that he was negotiating a slight left bend along PIE when he filtered into the centre lane, accelerating to about 100kmh to overtake the car. After overtaking, Wan Ahmad tried to filter back into the right lane but lost control of the vehicle and caused the biker's death. He could have been jailed for up to give years and/or fined for causing death by doing a rash act.
