Xi has more important thing to talk to her than Taiwan issue which is a done deal. Italy probably wanted the IBIR initiative back and also she felt it is right to get closer to China once Trump resumed office in the white house. Having said that, EU nations cannot be trusted with their words, she will start criticising China once she is back to her home.
