It has been 18 yrs since a new opposition candidate win in GE

It took 14 years for the first opposition to enter parliament.
It took another 3 years for the second one to do so
Another 7 years for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th one.
But 18 years have pass, no new opposition has win in GE

Next GE, will it be CST and LTK again?

and next next next GE, will it remain the same ?

From 1980 to 1991 the best opposition has never lost by more than 6%
and in 1991 the opp win 4 seats

the future of opposition look so bright then

and there are talk of opp winning 10-20 seats in future election

But after that come chee, ling and chiam quarrel in SDP

People confidence in opposition was sink to it lowest point since 1970s

Even the team lead by JBJ and TLH lost by almost 10% in cheng san grc

But results in the 2006 election has show that people confidence 2006 in opp is starting to come back

it increaes it vote by 8.7 % from 2001

recent year also show there is more people joining the opposition, the setting and of reform party lead by kenneth jeyaretnam.

I think opposition need to win at least a 3rd`seats this time and lower PAP vote to at most 63%
if not i think the future for opp will be very bleak

the only hope lies now on RP's KJ and nsp. the latter opp party is keeping low-keyed which is good unlike empty noisy vessel fr the sdp and loudhailer chee which have fatally miamed themselves. they are now so desperate that any trolls or fishmonger would do fine for them even though they do not pledge membership allegiance to the party. it's fine so long as they loudhail along with chee's tra la la la la.

NSP could be the black horse for the next GE with veterans like goh meng seng and steve chia. siew kum hong and tan kim lian could be in the race too should they wish to stand up for peasants as individuals.

as for currently old goat, ex-RP member ng teck siong. he's history. he could not even focus on the main issue and hog mainly on retrospective which are already as old as he.

SDA mrs chiam could also be one to watch out if she stands for GE. she has the influence from cst rubbing onto her for ground support.

SDP clowns and ring master chee are definitely out of the game for the betterment of all the opp parties. they are simply a bad influence and dire liability to begin with.
