during the "Friday Forum" at the Islamic Center of Passaic County (ICPC) in Clifton, NJ, Imam Sheikh Osamah Salhia said that the "victory in Syria" is a collective victory for the Muslims, akin to what the liberation of Jerusalem from the "filth of Zionism" would be. Zaied Abbassi, an Islamic scholar at ICPC, responded to this, saying that the "nation of Muhammad" has no boundaries and, if Allah allowed it, he would like to see the entire world within this nation, led by a just Caliph. Later, Abbassi referenced the hadith about Muslims fighting the Jews at the End of Times, calling it a "famous hadith," and saying that it was popularized by Hamas in their charter. Sheikh Salhia shared that recent events in Gaza had deepened his understanding of this hadith. Abbassi added that while the hadith may not refer to current times, the "Zionist entity" could fall, Islam would flourish, and the prophecy of Muslims fighting the Jews—where Jews would hide behind trees and rocks—could come to pass in a future battle.

Osama Salhia: "The victory in Syria is our victory, and inshallah, when we see the liberation of Bayt Al-Maqdis – Jerusalem from the filth of Zionism, it is going to be our victory collectively. I pray that Allah allows us to see that."

Zaied Abbassi: "Yeah, the nation of Muhammad has no boundaries.

"My vision is very expansive. If Allah would allow it, I want to see the whole world in the nation of Muhammad. I want to see the whole world led by a just caliph. There is no shame in saying this.

"The famous hadith, quoted by one of the groups in Palestine... That at the End of Time there will be a battle between the Muslims and the J... and people of the Jewish faith, and the Jews will be hiding behind rocks and trees, and the trees and the rocks will tell on them. Do you want to say anything more about that, sheikh..."

Salhia: "The only thing I will say is that I was never able to process this hadith, until I saw a year of Gaza."

Abbassi: "Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! I will say though, these hadiths, the Islamic scholars always say they are descriptive, not prescriptive, meaning they describe a reality that will clearly play out. Don't try to force that reality on to today's world. It is very possible that the Zionist entity will go and Islam will flourish again, and then there will be some other battle that comes.

"This hadith was made popular because one of the groups in Palestine [Hamas] used it in their initial charter.

"Our struggle is to live in the moment, and to struggle to be righteous and beloved to Allah and hope that Allah guides us, and then if Allah brings that miracle about, and you live to see it, you will know that the hadith finally came true. Anything you want to correct from what I said, sheikh?"

Salhia: "No, no, no."

I dont really understand this obsession with jerusalem. Its not a muslim holy city. The dome of the rock was built 50 years after the supposed death of mahomet. And the name mahonet was only revealed around the same time.
