Because it was half in Hokkien, both in the trailer and in the film. Because of the rules that makes it compulsory to be broadcast in either of the official 4 languages, and not to be in dialect, Hokkien trailers are not allowed.

I think its a bit absurb since at least half of the population- mostly chinese- do know a bit of hokkien and speak it frequently.

it was made years back with proper funding unlike jack neo. nowever it receives more attention than jaco neo's movie. it became one is the best movie that was made by private film.

i like the way the film is made because they have no budget for big stars, only for one which the guy donno wad name, as he does this film only during interval when he is having break from mediacrop film. no flash sexy female lead and no handsome dashing smiling male lead. it is purely made protray from a typical view of a singaporean.

it is admirable for a small team with small budget to make such good movies. things which a typical person may not note is that 800k from private film vs 800k from media crop is a smaller budget because small film have to rent everything but media crop have all these facilities and equipment.

so for media crop with so many good artist and equipment and budget, who cannot come up with good show and most of the time they are just replaying old show. i would think this private film really is a lot better.

The world isn't as easy as you think. The reason on why many haven't emigrated is not because they don't want, but they want, but can't afford it.

And a vote for the opposition today doesn't mean that they will receive gold the following day. The damage caused by a selfish government will take a number of years to repair by a better one which has succeeded the previous one. Its not an overnight thing.
