Nonetheless, the positives of this transformation are clearly visible: higher service levels with a smile, a genuine diversity and a thumbs up that our multi-ethnic, multilingual society is a success. Sounds like some FAPee IB sending out a test signal to feel the ground on the FTrash issue.

well, nothing can stop the foreigners unless PAP change it's way.

In many Southeast Asian nations they make foreigners pay many times more than their locals for entrance to their attractions.

May be we could do the same here - earn extra revenues for the gahment and people at the same time. So Sporeans get discount for using these services taxi, MRT, buses, road taxes, GST.

If you look at this video of Singapore taken in 1938, Singapore already had many foreigners. The angmohs built these large beautiful buildings and bring prosperity to Singapore. The Indians are here even to protect Singapore. So the gahment FT policy is nothing new - actually old wine in new bottle. The gahment is using a past policy that has worked well before.

Modern day Sporeans KPKB about FTs because they are weathier and want to show off. It's just like the Muslim Malay women - they began to wear tudungs to make themselves more religious-looking, some insist on buying foods only with halal certificates and some don't even want to sit with their non-Muslim friends in the canteen or food courts. They make lots of noise about Geylang market when one of the foodstall holders was a little late in displaying his halal certificate. The next group could be the Hindus who may demand that Tekka market cannot sell beef or beefsteak or beef burgers.

Moral of the story? Let's live and let live. The FTs are here to earn an honest living to support their families back home. Sporeans can't demand that Singapore is only for Singaporeans - especially if don't put in their fair share of hard work.

Then it's no difference from our neighbour up north who insists that priority must be for their own "sons of the soil" - with regards to race or religion.

Sporeans should be proud that they are able to accept and live side-by-side with foreigners to turn this into a cosmopolitan country. If they can't accept even their own people who can only affort to rent a flat in their neighbourhood, how can they accept FTs working with them??

Are you a property agent pretending to be milder but more credible?

Singapore was a British colony. Those angmohs were our colonial masters.

Singapore was founded in 1819 as an almost uninhabited jungle island. Immigrant coolies provided cheap labour for the British to exploit Malaya's rich minerals and resources. The island subsequently became an urban city. Technology and knowledge were transferred. Many of our finance, insurance and shipping companies have British origins.

Fast forward to 2010. We are a nation-state now, not a forlorn island with geographic boundaries. We have to do NS to protect the political boundaries of the country. We have a pledge - We the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people...

Even animals urinate to mark their territories. We are not beneath cats and dogs. Please don't debase yourself or insult the intelligence of Singaporeans.

Please don't give us nonsense like foreigners have rights to be here or that they are like our migrant forefathers. Please don't spout crap like Global Village or nations without boundaries. We are not a public toilet where people can use and go. We are not even a paid toilet. We are a private toilet opened to members of the family and friends only.

We welcome foreigners, not the large presence of foreigners and definitely not the indefinite increase in foreigners.

We have a Presidential Council for Minority Rights in Singapore.

A Singapore for Singaporeans - regardless of race, language or religion.

NB: please note the differences/similarities between island, colonial outpost, nation, country, state, nation-state
