SINGAPORE - HEALTH Minister Khaw Boon Wan told reporters today that he would be 'happy to stand as an SMC (Single Member Constituency)' in the upcoming elections.
He made the comment at a community event in Woodlands this morning.
Mr Khaw currently represents Sembawang GRC, which is one of the largest constituencies with six members. His team won the constituency with the biggest margin in a GRC contest in 2006's General Elections. In that election, Singapore Democratic Party had contested Sembawang GRC.
PM Lee has convened the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee, a sure indicator that elections are around the corner.
