In my personal assessment, any race should be given a chance, and that include the Malays as well.
But there is a problem of which we need to consider very carefully with potential Malay candidate(s) who may be associated with Islamic religion.
If the candidate is associated with Islamic religion, he/she must be denied at all cost, and so for other races with Islamic faith, they too must be denied as well.
