Does anyone know if it amounts to infringement of copyrights to play a 'full' song with any musical instrument and upload it onto Youtube ?

No. It is only an infringement when you ask dumb questions. Any progress on your NZ application.
Application ? You must be joking. I couldn't afford the housing and food in NZ.
You need dumb questions to give the condescending egos a thrilling trip.
BTW, you're not the Attorney-General, so a simple 'NO' carries no weight whatsoever. You need to substantiate.
It's Youtube policy, not so much the substantive law of intellectual property rights.
I know of a music school who refuses to post full videos of their students' concert for fear of infringement of copyrights, as a result of which they show only snippets. On the other hand, there are tons of full length videos from many amateur musicians on Youtube. So it's an issue that I'm not sure.
IP law vary by country. If you are in SG, you can visit the following:

Note that only lawyers can give you more current information.
My layman reading is it's an outright infringement. But the fact is it's so rampant in youtube, so surely there is more to it than it meets the eyes.
Application ?
You need 'dumb' questions to give the condescending egos some cheap thrills. Don't get distracted by questions that are labelled 'dumb'; the issue is not one of dumbness but people who are desperate to appear 'clever' to others. As you mature in soul (and not just age), the desire to have people acknowledged you as smart or clever subsides, and for some it marks the beginning of love.
