“Islam is now everywhere in Viennese schools,” stated Klar, the principal of a high school in Vienna, who reported on the dramatic conditions prevailing in the schools of the Austrian capital in an interview with the oe24 news portal.

‘Some girls wear headscarves out of fear. Others wear full-body veils out of Islamic conviction,” he told oe24.
“I would really like a very clear, strict directive on, for example, the dress code, which would also be published in the media. To make it clear to everyone who lives in Austria that this is not what we want,” he said.
Klar has banned headscarves and full-body veils in his school, but is now looking for action at the federal level to address the issue.
Klar noted that five young girls came to school veiled after being sexually harassed on a massive scale. On the advice of their parents, they wanted to protect themselves from further incidents of this kind.
In his book, he tells the stories of students who demand an Islamic prayer room in the school, but have no tolerance for other religions.
He pointed out other problems he has seen, including one student threatening to stab the principal at school, while another boy who had committed a specific crime was only willing to talk to male police officers.
Klar is calling for stricter rules from the government to preserve the school system and keep radical religious elements out of the classroom.
“If we want to preserve our secular society, we must take care of it. And intolerance should not be countered with tolerance,” he stated.
