An Indonesian man has admitted to robbing and raping an Australian woman at knifepoint in Bali.
The 28-year-old Perth woman was attacked at her Bali villa while on holiday with her family in April.
The man, who police have named as Junaedi, 39, was arrested earlier this week.
Today he had to be carried into a room to front the waiting media, because he was been shot in both legs while trying to resist arrest.
Junaedi told the media that he threatened the woman with a knife and shone a torch in her face while robbing her.
He also admitted to raping her.
Using an Arabic word meaning he had been temporarily led astray, or done the wrong thing, he acknowledged that he was guilty and asked for forgiveness.
Police also displayed some of the stolen items including an iPad and an iPhone.
Junaedi could spend up to 25 years in jail for the crime.
Bali police say he is also the suspect in 15 other villa robberies.
