Indonesian held for bribing cop
KUALA LUMPUR: An Indonesian man was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly bribing a policeman. The 32-year-old man who was arrested on Friday has been remanded to facilitate investigations. MACC in a statement said the Indonesian allegedly offered RM5,000 to the police officer to avoid being arrested during a drug raid in Taman Setapak Indah. “He will be charged under Section 17(b) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009, which carries a maximum 20 years’ jail or a fine of up to five times the value of the bribe or RM10,000 or both.
