This year g20 summit in jakarta or bali. Russia is member but Ukraine is not. So i dunno why he invited ukraine to summit.

I'm sure everyone including Jokowi himself is aware of that, the purpose of his trip has little to do with forging peace between Russia and Ukraine (not even China can do that, much less Indonesia). However, Jokowi's high profile visits likely seek to achieve two outcomes:
1) Raise his domestic prestige personally in anticipation for tough negotiations with Indonesia's fragment political parties on matters pertaining to his successor.
2) More importantly, Indonesia by virtue of it being the largest country in ASEAN, is more or less representing this region on our views around the Russian-Ukrainian war. These visits are in response to many US/European countries that have been pressurizing individual countries (including Indonesia) in Southeast Asia to takes sides. It builds up on Indonesia and by proxy, ASEAN's view of the matter as articulated previously by Prabowo Subianto during the Shangri-la dialogue.
