Indian national with syabu worth RM930,000 nabbed

ALOR SETAR: A 35-year-old Indian national has been arrested by the state Customs authorities for smuggling some RM933,280 worth of drugs, believed to be syabu.
The 4.9kg of drugs were found hidden in 39 plastic tube rolls inside a trolley bag.
The suspect, who is from Chennai, was nabbed at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in Alor Setar, Kedah on Sunday.
He has been remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which provides for a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
