No drinking water
'The boast that water is safe to drink has no value if the same water is denied to tourists.'
MR JULIUS MACHADO: 'I am from Mumbai and during my visit to Singapore last week, the guide on the Night Safari proudly listed Singapore's achievements. I was impressed by the efficiency, cleanliness, discipline and all-round development of Singapore. The guide mentioned repeatedly that water was safe to drink. Unfortunately, the same 'safe and potable' water is not available anywhere at the Night Safari, while bottled water is - at three times the prices charged in the city. Tourism is big business for Singapore, but why are tourists fleeced for such a basic necessity? The Government should ensure drinking water taps are available at tourist attractions. Or are tourists expected to quench their thirst with water from the toilet taps? The boast that water is safe to drink has no value if the same water is denied to tourists.'

MR J MACHADO is welcomed his own bottled drinks or drink from the toilet tap.

The zoo is careful with canned drinks because some foreign morons had mischeivously thrown canned drinks at the residents of the zoo in the past.

Also I read long ago that foreign people had complained about potable water cooler hygiene at the zoo to be tainted with smell of animal dung and urine.

They have special reasons at the zoo.

I remembet seeing water cooler at many places, plus there are vending machines everywhere. Worse come to worst there is always the Mandai reservoir. Where got no free water?

If he's so convinced that tap water is safe to drink knn go and drink in toilet lor :D

This is a frivolous and petty complaint. Potable water safe to drink means that supplied to residences, but never means free. He can buy a house in Singapore, open an PUB account and enjoy it and pay for it if he likes, just like everyone else.

When he is not visiting the zoo,it is normal for Mr. Neh drinks free from public tap and coolers in the rest of Singapore.

He feels the pinch of $3 for a bottle of 500ml mineral water, which had decreased his family fortune by Rupees 100 ( S$1 = rupees 33.5 ).

Mumbai indians are el cheapos. Everything also want free. If cannot afford a bottle of mineral water, then why spend so much coming to the zoo in the 1st place? Might as well go Mustafa & indulged in his hometown indian smell.
