Did the earliest inhabitants of Singapore, who came from different lands but settled here to build this great country, have to do NS?
Of course not, because the circumstances were different.
Does that make their contributions any less significant? By that same logic, doing NS is not the only way one can contribute to the country.
The policies of the Government are well thought out and will continue to attract foreigners to this beautiful country.

This fucking Indian from India, let him run up and down the hill for 2 weeks with the full battle order and then he will know why the true-blue Singaporeans hate the N.S.

Mind you this is only 2 weeks for him. The true-blue Singaporean males are locked in for 2 full years and another damn 13 years of active army reservist and after then post you to civil defence for another 10 to 15 years till age 49.

Really the PAP govt. should at least subject all male P.R. age 25 to 35 (18 to 25 must do 2 yrs of N.S....including all Malaysians and Indonesians) to undergo at least 2 to 3 weeks of crash course basic training...mainly in drill, live firing, jungle warfare at squard level and FIBO (fighting in built-up area) and 2 nights of field camp + 10 Km road march with full pack. This will help them to appreciate what all male Singaporeans had to go though and help them to get to know Singapore better.

Also after that, subject them to army recall once a year, yearly IPPT test
(at 25% lighter than normal N>S. men) and 1 week of in-camp training once in 2 years for 13 years cycle.
