Incredible video shows church struck by lightning

A 16-year-old boy in the United States has captured the dramatic moment a church was struck by lightening during wild storms on Wednesday.
Carl Bouley was standing outside his house in Maine when the church was struck.

He said he had a gut feeling it was going to be hit.
“In 2007 on my birthday it was hit by lightning, too,” Carl told local media.
“When I saw the conditions with the atmosphere were the same yesterday, I figured ‘Why not try to record it [and] if it happens, it happens."
His instincts turned out to be right.
Carl's vision, filmed on his iPhone, shows the steeple of St Gerard Catholic Church illuminated by a huge lightening bolt.
Sparks can be seen flying from the top of the building.
The church did not sustain any damage.
