Increase Charities is a sign of PAP bad government

Everyday we heard about it on TV, in Road shows, and see it every weekends where students and adults coming out to beg for donations. These are all telling sign that PAP is not been a good government causing a rise in poverty here. In a successful countries, charity organisations and donations should not be happending so frequently as in Singapore but we are now seeing it everyday. I find it so shameful of PAP to even cause such a trend here. Why are Singaporeans in such bad shape that we need charity everyday? Vote out PAP and the situation in Singapore will improve drastically.

I innocently thought that we will see very much lesser, or ideally none at all, thereafter after the increase of 2% GST TO HELP THE POOR.

I was horribly wrong. But then what was I expecting with the MIW's multiple 'schemes' ? One of the biggest being the CPF no-Life.

I would rather see more charities than to see more tax increase. Gov should get out of the way and not involved in social economics and just let free market take it's course. I am against socialism and I believe in free market and each person has a responsibility to their own lives and not become a dependant under a nanny state which we are now in.

To demand more social handouts from the gov is to become a more nanny state and be more dependant on the gov and hence giving them more power. I think the gov should reduce it's size and role and take care only the infrastructure and law and order and stay out of people's private live.
