I'm a 26-year-old woman and for the past 8-mos have been dating an amazing guy who is only two years my senior. I have developed this theory--OK I haven't really developed it, but it has become all too apparent lately--that if we are to be together forever, he will likely leave me for a younger woman someday, or want to. I know this is paranoid and irrational, and perhaps jumping the gun slightly, but I can't get it off my mind! He is the FIRST person I have ever even thought about being with forever. I know eight months is a very short time to be making this kind of call, but I don't know, biological clock?? I never even wanted kids, or to get married until I met him, and I have been in several long-term relationships. I feel like I'm in my prime now, and it's downhill from here. Is it truly inevitable that he will eventually want to leave me when we get up there in our 40's-50's for something younger? If so, why waste my time?? Why not get out there and find some guy in his 40's right now? I know I must sound neurotic, but I really love this guy and I'm scared. Any insights? Please no "live in the present" bull-sh*t, I know this already, obviously I have a difficult time doing this!!
