He is Wong Wai Yoke who at the time of the offense, was the "Counsellor" at the Sinkie high commission in the UK.
The story put forward by Sinkie MFA is inaccurate. It has been watered down.
Wong did not just pick up his wife. Both he and his wife attended a party hosted by some British acquaintances.
During the investigations by the UK constables, Wong blamed his wife who in turn blamed their babysitter. According to Wong's wife, their babysitter failed to show up on that night. (This is "Adam-Eve syndrome".)
The Sinkie MFA refused to identify its diplomat. This is blatant cover-up to hide the crime from Sinkie tax-payers.
By the way, Sinkies, especially the political elites, when confronted with the crimes they have committed, invariably sink into the "Adam-Eve syndrome" (see below for an explanation of this syndrome).

The Sinkie ambassador had no choice but to obey Old Fart's instructions out of fear of losing his job or worse by being reassigned to some third world countries in Africa. Indeed, Old Fart bore petty grudges and remembered who and who had offended him. Sinkies only need to look at his son, Pinky, who sued and sued all those who he thinks defamed/slandered him.
From the British, Sinkies also learned that Old Fart ordered Sinkapoor Airlines to retrofit one of its aircraft and converted it into a medical emergency cabin with medical specialists sourced from Sinkapoor General Hospital. They were ordered to fly out to London at the earliest opportunity.
Naturally Sinkies were disgusted by what they learned and the preferential treatment enjoyed by the political elites.
When his crimes were exposed by the British, he had no choice but to give excuses and excuses. He even promised to pay for all the expenses, including retrofitting the aircraft and sending medical specialists to fetch his wife back to Sinkieland. Up till now, Familee has not paid back a single cent.
There's another incident that warrants mention here.
Ultra-wealthy buyers of a high-end condominium complex raised a dispute that spilled into the open when they learnt that Familee obtained discounts when the latter bought units there, discounts that were denied to the former.
The incident was not reported in the newspapers, because everyone knows that it is part of SCM.
The important question is: what did Old Fart do when his greed and petty crime was exposed?
