Two men have been arrested for allegedly applying for mobile phone lines using names of unsuspecting victims.
The two, who are 26 years old, had previously worked for a mobile phone dealer in Somerset, where they misused victims' identity cards to sign up for a number of mobile phone plans without them knowing.
Police said they received information on August 17 where nine victims were billed for mobile phone plans which they never signed up for.
Officers studied the crime patterns and managed to arrest the two suspects in Raffles Place and Ang Mo Kio.
One of them will be charged in court on Aug 31, while investigations against the other suspect are still ongoing.
