Any virus can be deadly. However since it is no worse than influenza we should just lift all these dumb and pointless measures that are being used to combat a virus that has such a low mortality rate.

There is no need for the whole country to fight it because the mortality rate is so low and for the young the risk is even lower than influenza.

More and more data is emerging that shows that in many sample sets the infection rate is already way in excess of 1%. In fact the figure could well be in the 10% range which is why herd immunity is the only way to go.

Since the vast majority of those that succumbed are the old with pre existing conditions the logical thing to do is to mobile resources to protect these elderly while the rest of society can get on with keeping the world moving.

Locking down the 0 to 60 year olds to save a handful of half dead old folks just does not make any sense no matter how you try to justify the current situation.

High infection rates are not a bad sign on the contrary it is a positive indicator that the virus is not nearly as lethal as we first thought. The higher we find the actual infection rate to be the better it is for everyone.

I think 95% of Singaporeans don't need to do anything. In fact everyone should go back to work and the kids should go back to school.

For the vast majority of those under 60 the virus is very mild and the mortality rate is far lower than H1N1.

Just take care of the old folk (which we should always be doing anyway) and the rest can get the country moving again.

The fact that 70% show no symptoms supports my prediction that there are already tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of infected persons in the population. With this is mind it is pretty much obvious just how mild the virus is.

Why anyone would need to mask up is beyond me. It's just a futile exercise and more cosmetic than practical.

In the wake of three new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Singapore in a twenty-four-hour span, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong posted a message to the public regarding the spread of the virus, which originated in Wuhan, a city in central China and has thus far affected around 6,000 individuals, with a death toll of 132.
PM Lee sought to assure the public that measures are being made to ensure that Singapore is well-prepared at this time.

The Prime Minister, who posted his message late on Tuesday afternoon (Jan 28), said that he had been receiving numerous messages abut the virus, and assured that he understood well the concern people have for themselves and their loved ones in Singapore and other countries.

He acknowledged the swift progression of events in relation to the Wuhan virus, and said that the government’s contingency plan has been set in motion.

PM Lee added that the country’s healthcare system is well prepared, and has been getting ready for this type of situation since the SARS outbreak over 15 years ago.

In comparison the H1N1 epidemic caused 26 deaths in Singapore. Singapore is doing an excellent job and I would like to thank the PAP for the excellent work they have put in.

One point I need to add. If this wuhan virus is soo deadly to the old n sick n infirmed. And will flood hospitals etc..Why are not all the residents dead? There is not even 1 death in this nursing home whereby a staff member was working whilst infected.
