Why he reads ST
'Credibility in this digital age.'
MR PATRICK SIO: 'I started reading The Straits Times in Secondary 2. Today, 35 years later, I remain a regular ST reader because it is interesting, does its best to carry the facts, strikes an intricate balance to report matters in the interest of society and stays up to date. The introduction of Forum Online (fresh letters in the Internet version of ST) is an example of the latter. Most important, credibility is the reason ST is relevant to me in this digital age.
Its journalists are disciplined and professional; they take the extra step to verify facts. When the paper is wrong, it publishes a correction immediately. I wish ST well.'
