Hysterical girl saved from jumping off building
TEMERLOH: The morning calm at SM Abu Bakar was disrupted when a Form Three student became hysterical and attempted to jump from a school building. The drama unfolded at about 8.30am when the student suddenly started screaming for no apparent reason.
She then dashed out of the corridor to the edge of the two-storey building and pulled out several window panes and hurling them to the ground.

In the process, she cut herself and stunned everyone when she licked the blood oozing from her fingers. The student also walked precariously on the edge of the 8m-high building while threatening to jump.
Frantic school administration also alerted the girl’s family and called the Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defence. The drama ended when firemen used a skylift to pull her to safety when she was distracted.
The student was taken to the Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital for treatment and observation. Temerloh district education officer Mohd Nadzri Abdul Wahab said he was thankful nothing untoward occurred.
It is learnt several hysterical incidents had occurred in the school but yesterday’s was the most serious.
