桃園市空服員職業工會宣布下午4時罷工後，位於蘆竹區的長榮航運大樓前陸續出現許多工會成員，身穿淡藍色背心、頭戴粉色罷工布條，許多會員在收到簡訊後也都紛紛趕來會合，而許多剛下機的空姐也加入罷工行列盼壯大工會聲勢。
工會表示，在依照勞資爭議處理法完成罷工程序後，工會依法可在公司外圍進行集會，不需另外申請。而罷工行動也在下午4時正式展開，工會成員以繩索拉起「罷工糾察線」，長榮公司也由保全人員圍成人牆，雙方一度發生推擠，最後數百名工會成員就集結在航運大樓前的車道靜坐抗議。
工會成員在現場不斷高喊「空服員的尊嚴，誓死捍衛；空服員的過勞，立即終結」，以及「長榮的威權，靠我們打破，對等的談判，靠我們戰鬥」，還有「空服員團結，空服員戰鬥」等口號。
