A pig farmer in central China's Hunan province makes his pigs dive from from a high platform to improve the quality of their meat, the local Xiaoxiang Morning Herald reports.
Huang Deming believes his pigs' daily diving display boosts their immunity to disease, their appetite and their rate of growth. The taste of their pork is also improved, Huang said.
The farmer told the Herald that his pigs are expensive; the price a high-diving pig can fetch is three times greater than a regular, ground-based one. His diving pigs also attract many visitors and have made Huang's farm a tourist attraction.
