Barisan Nasional's P. Kamalanathan won the Hulu Selangor Parliamentary by-election. He received 24,997 votes to beat Datuk Zaid Ibrahim of Parti Keadilan Rakyat who got 23,272 votes. He won by a majority of 1,725 votes.

LATEST: Unconfirmed reports say BN has a majority of 1815.

LATEST: Barisan Nasional received 767 postal votes compared to 120 for Parti Keadilan Rakyat in the Hulu Selangor Parliamentary by-election.

Some 40 per cent of 2375 registered voters at Sek Menengah Kebangsaan Dato Hj Kamarudin Kuala Kubu Baru have cast their votes by 10.45am.

Bumper to bumper traffic jam at most polling stations as voters throng to cast their votes today.

At Kampung Sungai Buaya, cars are inching out of the narrow road by the polling station at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Buaya.

In Kuala Kubu Baru, Election Commission Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof who visited the polling centres here, said that the EC officers were given clear instructions on their duties.

"They are professionals," he said at Sekolah Menengah Ampang Pecah here.
