May be their safety planing worked or they were lucky, no death toll and at most minor injuries only. The plan seems to be a good one that there were sufficient safe distance from the public road, so that the collapse did not reach the road. It landed in the water only.;)

<p>An accident happened at 11 a.m. yesterday. The biggest crane that was used in construction of Podolsky bridge crashed down.</p>

<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-47.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Several boats were destroyed. 8 people were working on the crane at the time of the accident. 5 of them were able to save on their own whereas three others were saved by employees of the MES of Russia.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-48.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The crane had to be used in installation the last segment of the bridge.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-49.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The bridge is facing an active transformation, asphalt is being laid now. Arcs of the bridge are ready.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-50.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>How could such a huge crane fall down?</p>

<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-53.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Workers say that the crash occurred due to somebody’s criminal negligence. Puddles of machine oil can be seen on the water.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-54.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-55.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Let’s go upstairs to see the place of the accident better.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-56.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The crane was intended for bridge construction. It was the biggest technological construction of the type in Ukraine.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-57.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Specifications: actual carrying capacity – 680 tons, height of the crane arm – 93,3 m, size of the main boat – 97x16m, mass of the assembled crane – 3000 tons.</p>

<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-58.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The last arc has to be mounted here but nobody knows when it is going to happen.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-59.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-60.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>It seems that two 5-storey buildings have fallen down.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-62.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The bridge is still under construction.</p>

<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/biggestcrane/bgscr005-61.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Construction of the crane was over in 2009. In August 2010 the crane was used for the first time in dismantling of another floating crane.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-8.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The main arm of the crane is over 100 m long.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-9.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-10.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The crane has two auxiliary boats. One of them carries the arm during transportation.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-11.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Boats are fixed laterally from the crane to increase stability.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-12.jpg" alt="" /></p>

<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-13.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-14.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-15.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The crane can be controlled from the front cabin and works both in an autonomous regimen and from the coast using a cable.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-16.jpg" alt="" /></p>

<p>The crane with a lifted arm.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/zahar/zahar006-19.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The adjacent crane was dismantled last year.</p>

<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-113.png" alt="" />The photo was taken 10 minutes before the crane crash.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-18.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-19.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>11:24 a.m. The arm of the crane is not observed above the bridge any longer.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-20.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The crew is saved and workers are trying to catch the boat that has floated away.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-21.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Let’s continue the examination.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-22.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-23.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The person was working on the crane.</p>

<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-24.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-25.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Welding seams are deformed along the entire arm. Even the flat upper part is curved now.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-26.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>The reasons for the accidents are still being discussed.</p>
<p><img src="http://media.englishrussia.com/112011/kievbridge/cshcr007-27.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>It is hoped that the crane will be restored in winter.</p>

If it went a bit closer by 20M the users of the road at waterside will be SMASH into the ground beyond recognized. I mean minced meat.

砸成肉餅! :eek::*:

OK! Caught!

Who is this fucker without safety helmet and safety boots? Wearing shorts and slippers (??) to work on this extra heavy industrial lifting crane? Revocation of his professional license must be a meaningful thing! Is he the one who flipped over this giant crane? Is he FT? - oops not SGP! :D
