JOHOR BARU: The husband of a woman who was embroiled in a 2006 controversy involving former Pengkalan Rinting assemblyman Low Teh Hian has died of electrocution. Businessman Khoh Chong Heng, 46, was found dead in his car repair shop in Jalan Tun Razak here at about 7am yesterday.
He was lying face down while still holding a car wax machine.
“There is no criminal element involved in the death. We believe the victim died from electrical shock,” Johor Baru (South) OCPD Asst Comm Zainuddin Yaakob said. Khoh’s body, which had burn marks, was discovered by his workers, he said. He might have died three hours earlier, he said, adding that Khoh’s belongings were not missing from the shop.
The case, he said, had been classified as sudden death. Khoh had once accused Low of having an affair with his wife. In July 2007, Khoh stormed into Low’s apartment and found his wife there. During the confrontation, Low took out a pistol to defend himself. Subsequently, Low was suspended from all MCA positions but he was eventually cleared of all allegations by the police after a 13-month investigation.
