Magnitude 5.6 quake hits Japan

The quake struck at 21:26 GMT on Sunday at a depth of about 18.3 miles, Sputnik reported.
There were no immediate reports on casualties or damage. No tsunami warnings have been issued.
In 2011, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake and a subsequent tsunami led to the meltdown of reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan. Thousands of people were killed in the disaster, which was the largest nuclear catastrophe in the world since the 1986 Chernobyl accident.

日本西南部日前發生連串地震後，氣象廳指在當地時間周三晚上9時19分（香港時間晚上8時19分），東北地區的福島縣近海發生5.6級地震，震源深40公里，沒有海嘯警報及傷亡報告。美國地質勘探局（USGS）則錄得為黎克特制6.1級地震。
此次地震引起了東北地區廣泛震動。受此地震影響，岩手縣大部分地區的震級為3級，其他地區為2級。
USGS指，地震發生於宮城縣仙台市東南偏南104公里，接近於311地震發生地點。
另外，熊本地震至今已有47人罹難。
