HP computer peripherals technologically do not last very long...
What is so difficult about HP (with 300,000 employees) providing update driver so printers, scanners comparable with windowsXP can also be comparable with later windows versions?
HP is a large company with in excess of 300,000 employees and assets in excess of $100billion USD. It thus befuddles me why HP cannot, for the sake of thousands if not millions of existing companies/ customers with still functioning hardware, provide either an update driver with every new windows version, or else some basic driver so that at least some basic functions are still workable: that would not just save its customers $$$, but also the Earth because then, much less electronic waste would be produced. The lack of foresight to have all similar products in the same class (laser jet printers, flatbed scanners with slide scanner etc) be served by similar drivers within the class for its entire physical lifespan (e.g. 15yrs or more (especially for less often used products)) shows HP's lack of foresight/ sustainability in the sale of such computer peripherals.
I paid a premium price for my HP scanner product in good faith that HP would continue providing driver support for new windows editions, but HP's declaration that products in excess of 7 years cease to be supported 'driver' wise has left a bitter taste in the mouth.
What is the point of running a consumer support website if all it can suggests is buying a brand new product???!!!
Indeed, we should only buy what we need. And only from reputable suppliers whose products can last more than just 7years, technologically or otherwise.
Maybe HP employees are overpaid, maybe they are an unmotivated lot! For those interested in HP products, you are hereby warned that they will not last very long.
HP: for all U speak about your care for the environment, was it all spin/ just lip service only???!!!

Why is there no driver available for my operating system?
HP strives to provide driver options for most operating systems, but it is not always possible. The type of driver option available for your printer depends on a number of factors. Generally, HP printers older than seven years old are unlikely to be supported on the newest operating systems.
