Actually don't need to bomb. Just enforce a full blockage and the island will die a natural death. Force SAF to invade Johore, their first objective will be Gunung Pulai for 3 reasons.
1.To achieve a certain depth of defence as it 25km away from Sg.
2. To secure PUB water source at the foot of the mountain.
3. To established a forward observation post as Gunnung Pulai 2000ft is the only high ground in Southern Johore.
First of all, the AMX10P is a light skin armoured carrier with a 105mm gun. just one RPG-7 will knock them out while they still bobbling in the Johor Straits. Other is that MAF Tentera Darat Malaysia now have MLRS. so the 25km barrier no longer work. There were talk of establish the "mersing line" which basically mean SAF will have to take the whole of Johor and hold it till UN ceasefire.
"The Royal Armoured Corps will soon have its first Tank Regiment, formed around the proposed purchase of the PT-91 Twardy tank from Poland, deliveries of which is expected by 2007. The Twardy was chosen over other (western) design due to its light combat weight (42 tonnes) compared to the over 60 tonnes for Western designs such as the Challenger, Leopard and Abrams.
It was revealed that the 11th Regiment Armour (11 Armor), presently equipped with the Alvis Scorpion will be refitted with the PT-91 Twardy tanks. 11 Armor will be relocated from Kota Belud to Gemas."
The location of this Msia armour regiment is very important as it allow the Msia armour to trade space for time while it wait for the UN to pressure singapore. The choice of the equipment is also important. While the PT91 are obselete compare to the Leopard II but being only 42tons, it can cross many bridges that the 60 ton Leos cannot. As many bros here annouce before that many Johor bridges are not structurally withstand 60tons. In a armour spearhead, it take at least two bridging battlions to assist the the spearhead rapid movement over water barriers, ie rivers and streams. i doubt there more than 3 battlions (active plus reserve) worth of bridging equipments.
So without the support of the AMX13s and Leo IIs, the thin skin Bionixs and Ultras that "swim" across the rivers will be masscare by the PT91s. (That why i always wonder why there no TOW/Milan missiles system on board the APCs/IFVs) With the armour unable to withstand 12.7mm fire, the PT91s only need to fire their coxials and turret mounted heavy MG and SAF armoured vehicles would have burst into flame.
