In other words, we created a need for these mega-dorms. The very same places that have led to the accelerated COVID-19 spread in Singapore.


Yes, while there might be validity to claims such as overcongustion and some social discomfort when dealing with communities that are underexposed to us, it is important for Singaporeans to not only hold the government and organisations accountable. We also have to hold ourselves and our values accountable. For these migrants aren’t chips in a political game – reasons for us to praise or critique authorities – they are real people with real lives, much like you and me.

Would our local malays and indians be the same if PAP had not mix us all more evenly in HDB pigeon holes ? Would the world progress as much if indians, chinese and filipinos were not spread out into developing countries ?

As if we have a say in granting half a million Work Permits to these foreign workers.

Today I saw FIVE foreign workers tending to a 3m x 3m patch of land scaping supervised by one local. Wish I had taken a picture as evidence. Take my word for it, it happened.

One local could have been paid the salary of 3 workers to do the same job and we would still see a net savings.

The real beneficiaries to our lax policy on cheap foreign workers are the middle man companies taking these contracts from the government.

And we wonder why our productivity figures are so low and there is so little innovation in our economy.

Necessity is the mother of all inventions; there is no necessity here.
