1) Subscribe to a proxy server. It makes your IP address difficult, if not impossible to trace.

2) A free proxy server (Hotspot Shield) is available at http://www.hotspotshield.com/ for download. The installation is very simple. When activated, it will hide your real IP address and give your location as somewhere in the USA. A second proxy with another server will give complete anonymity. Just make sure the govt does not become the owner of Hotspot Shield or any other proxy server that you may use.

3) After installing and logging on to the proxy server, apply for a new web-based email address at Yahoo.com. Some web email services like Hotmail can detect proxy servers and will deny registration. Use this email address only for Delphi. Since it's possible for your email account to be hacked, you don't want to leave any email messages that could be used to trace your identity.

4) Alternatively, you can skip step 3 and apply for an email address from an internet cafe. Make sure you pay with cash, not credit or debit card. You can also use your laptop to log on to an unsecured network to apply for a new email address. However your laptop's MAC address will be recorded by the ISP so it's possible (although difficult) for your computer to be traced.

5) While still logged on to the proxy server (or while at the internet cafe), sign up for a new Delphi Forum member ID. Use the email address obtained in step 3 or 4. Do not use your regular email address.

6) Remember to log on to the proxy server before you make any posting on Delphi.

If you follow these steps, anonymity will not be an illusion.
