Any opinions?

Been pretty impressed by theangryone's thread and the responses it gathered.

To kick off, in my opinion, what the forces that will shape the world:

1.) Maturing of major oilfields worldwide.

2.) Rise of piracy in major shipping routes worldwide which will disrupt trade.

3.) Massive inflation due to recent capital injections worldwide.

4.) More severe weather swings in densely populated areas and food production regions.

Hope to see a sharing of opinions in this thread.

Cheers,
Trout

What won't change is that the majority of the human race will continue to be greedy bastards.

Unrealistic Singaporean salaries will be adjusted, Singaporeans will retrain to become more relevant, the PAP will grow even stronger and caring for the people and Singaporeans will enjoy more foreign talents to share their homes with.

The salaries of MPs have already been adjusted and they have become a steal at current remunerations. Appreciate the best you are getting now, especially in consideration of the cheap prices.

At the current remuneration levels of the MPs and Ministers, the only thing getting stolen here is the people's money.

The catch word here is "steal". Yes, stealing from the people to pay themselves exhorbitant salaries.

china will take over the mantle of being the world superpower. chinese will become the international language. asia will be the dominant region of the world. sillypore will officially legalise the slavery system, after legalising prostitution, money laundering and organ sales (not the yamaha type). hmm... makes one look at the GSS in a totally different light.

China will never be the world superpower. Just wait till the financial crisis trickle down to manufacturing next year. Millions in China will be without jobs. More people gonna starve to death in China next year.

China does not have the amount of SMEs or the mom and pop stores such as those in the US to absorb these workers.

1.) Maturing of major oilfields worldwide.

no issue as obama put the deflationary semi conductor industry into potentially inflationary energy industry.
----------

2.) Rise of piracy in major shipping routes worldwide which will disrupt trade.

the oecd cannot wait to put their colonial hat on and invade africa using the above as excuse.

3.) Massive inflation due to recent capital injections worldwide.

4.) More severe weather swings in densely populated areas and food production regions.

This is truly worthy of a listen as it tackles difficult concepts and issues in a very straight forward way without any crap.

Also, the issues raise would serve as an excellent basis for the thread.

More factors to consider:

1. The US Southwest is drying up.

2. Northeast China is drying up.

3. Massive flooding predicted in Bangladesh due to the increased melting of the Himalayas.

4. Expansion of the Taklamakan Desert in Northwest China.

5. Strangulation of the EU by Russia's hold on the oil & gas pipelines feeding Europe.

7. Projected death of the auto-industry in Detroit.
