With so many lies going on in China and strong growing mistrust in Singapore, how safe is our foods. It is understood that unscrupulous produce sellers, lace the containers and covers of vegetables with pesticides to avoid detection while extending shelf-life of vegetables. Pesticide poisoning is cumulative and when you realize you have been poisoned, it would be some time and you would not be able to pinpoint the criminal. Also, damage could be permanent. I am not sure what other chemicals besides melamine could be laced in our meats as well. Can we really be sure what we are eating is safe? PRC tells you its meat and milk are safe from melamine and yet new incidents occurred after the safe window period. Any thoughts?
