queenstown during dr ow chin hock was already weakening due to the goof-up in explaining the upgrading. many were left without an extra room after upgraded. ow quit soon after. the next mp was a chay something who quit too leaving with very little impression.
the present mp is baey yam keng - a korean-look alike hunk always with friendly smile and was voted in through walkover due to the great influence and presence of lau lee.
queenstown was previously known as lengkee and previous previously known as alexandra and previous previous previously known as brickworks..and ...sheesh!! dunno any more.
during dr ow's time, he narrowly won the ward by a very precarious slim margin. he quit later citing "seeking personal endeavour". his wife unfortunately passed away due to cancer.
next mp chay was a nondescript. many residents didn't like him. don't think he had much rapports with the residents. he got that fuckup unsmiling and stern look. soon he was also out and in came baey.
suppose queenstown were to stand as single ward, would those walk in by the back doors mps still hold their worth by garnering voters' supports?
it's about time GRC revert to single wards. it's about time that ALL SINGAPOREANS BE GIVEN BACK THE VOTING RIGHTS.
