A THIEF made off with a video camera and cellphone after breaking into a flat at Block 136 Marsiling Road early on Monday. The theft occurred when two adult occupants of the flat were not at home. They had earlier hidden their house key in a small space on the main gate before leaving. At about 6.40am, their 11-year-old son who was home with his brother saw a man standing at the corner of the living room. When questioned by the boy, the man said that he was looking for his phone, which he alleged was left there from a previous visit. He then fled the house. The stolen video camera was worth $1,000 and the cellphone was valued at $150. The suspect was believed to be in his 40s, 1.65m tall and of plump build. He was wearing a dark green cap and shirt, black trousers and was carrying a sports bag. Anyone with information on the case should call the police hotline on 1800-255-0000.
